Kenya
The Shona community in Kenya consists of roughly 1,600–4,000 individuals who migrated from Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) as missionaries in the late 1950s and early 1960s. They lived as a stateless, unrecognized group for over 50 years until 2021, when they were officially recognized as Kenya’s 44th tribe and granted citizenship. (Learn More)
