The Sakuye (or Saguye) are a small, semi-nomadic, Sunni Muslim pastoralist tribe numbering roughly 27,000, primarily located in Kenya's Marsabit and Isiolo counties. As an Oromo-speaking people affiliated with the Borana, they historically moved from Somalia, later separating from the Rendille. They are renowned camel herders, though many have shifted to farming after suffering major herd losses during the 1963 Shifta war. (Learn More)
